The Byron Bay camping weekend was not an option for some. I had been off crook, patching the boat and had back problems and Graham was looking for a
opportunity to ease back into paddling after back surgery so we
planned a very light paddle circumnavigating Coochiemudlo Is.
Irena, Stan and Jenni, Mark, Sue and friend Luli joined us. Steve was with us in thought promising to be in the area, sailing badly in one of the local yacht races.
We had a very lazy crossing from Victoria Pt to the north of Coochie to take advantage of the high water and cruised among the mangroves. We were joined by Bob in his Pacifica while
having morning tea no 1 at the eastern end of Morwong Beach.
We spent a bit of time discussing sails and opportunities to join in on paddles, we may see more of him in the future. From there we pottered to Main Beach for morning tea no 2 (ice creams from the shop) and some folks took the opportunity to paddle other boats.
It was a very easy crossing back to Victoria Pt with a gentle NE now building and it allowing those with sails to have an easy run home. The modified ramp with a floating dock from the middle
took the hassle out of landing with the number of power boats at the ramp. Sue, Mark and Luli had brought a picnic lunch and the others were joined by Glenda for lunch at the Rock and Roll Cafe.
