I'll be there with bells on ! And Carol was, together with 27 other paddlers, three cyclists and a hoard of delicious treats for the annual Christmas gathering at Potts
Point.
It was yet another of those scorching days that heralded the arrival of this year's so called Spring. The only place was to be on the water and it was great escape from the 'reno'. As Graeme aptly said, if you don't know the two things about renovations, you soon find out - they take a lot of time and money. We hope to have effected a cure by February or March next year.
The group scattered and chattered as a light NE gave the sails some form. The water was still and in places thick with spume. The beach invasion of Potts Point was complete. An entree of truffles were munched in waste deep cloudy water while the tide
continued to seep away. Only a few locals ventured down to the water and the other tables remained surprisingly deserted.
Three brave cyclists, Allison and Dean followed by Dave fronted up - it would have been a hot ride into a head wind. By early afternoon we had enjoyed a beautiful array of treats including many varieties of homemade truffles, biscuits, cakes together,
savories and fresh fruit. The forecast NE started to lift a few
white caps making the completion of the circumnavigation of Coochie in a beam sea with a useful sail. The wind took my hat which floated briefly before sinking into a muddy morass - it enveloped the bright orange with surprising speed and ease. We chose to land by the tenders in preference to the exposed rocky and slimy expanse that had been the sandy beach that morning.
It was not long before the impressive string of cars with various rack configurations and a variety of boats had left Point O'Halloran at the end of yet another impressive annual gathering of happy paddlers.
