By daybreak the noisy friar birds, duelling magpies and lorikeets added to the mix. It was a glorious morning with the forecast changing to SE to E 15-20Kn which would help annul the outgoing tide.
Damiano's sculptured sail performed beautifully while Dean really felt his lack of cloth. We made good time to One Mile for AM tea in the shade before heading across to the protection of the eastern corner of Horseshoe Bay for lunch, a nanna nap and swim.
Fed, washed and watered it was back out into an ESE for a tail ride and surf back to Raby Bay. This turned out to be a real blast with the sails as they gave you enough speed in a laden boat to pick up the swell and run with it. With the sail up front
and the extra weight the Raider the ride became fun rather than a fight to stay on course. By the end of the paddle we had done the trip as originally planned but it was the wind that made all the difference. Just ask Dean.
