Today was anything but a bumble. Pace, vital statistics, weekend noise and wash. As we approached Tipplers the float of kayaks was threaded by a throng of jet skis. A leisurely lunch and a 15 minute walk across to the surf beach for a dunk in knee deep water gave the tide more time to flood. It did not spare us the jet skis – they were skimming beyond the breakers.
The promise of a firm northerly blow split the group into those who preferred to return via a direct or those who would take a longer, potentially more scenic route. We of the scenic route had surprisingly limited depth, but enough to avoid any walking.
All up it was a an enjoyable paddle but a reminder that this part of the bay maybe better visited midweek.
