    14 to 20 March – Ebike Commute 163km

    Commuted 7 days.
I collected the Cube Nature One e-bike from 99Bikes Annerley on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday I tweaked my commute route and was very impressed with the level of assistance the e-bike provided on the many hills between Coorparoo and Griffith University Nathan Campus.
The railway line crossing at Banoon Station wasn’t ideal as it involved using a lift. I found an alternative route via suburban streets of Coopers Plains which has controlled pedestrian gates.
    Local ULP 91 price – $1.24/l. Fuel saving since 14/3/2021 – $22.50.

    21 to 27 March – Ebike Commute 141km

La Nina arrived and dumped 145mm of rain over three days.
The Cube e-bike was excellent in wet conditions. The wide tyres provided great road holding. The hydraulic disc brakes were outstanding.
Add in Topeak waterproof panniers and quality wet weather gear and you have an enjoyable commute in the warm subtropical torrential rain.
Follow it up with the luxury of a hot shower, a dry change of clothes and I am ready for work.
    Local ULP 91 price – $1.24/l. Fuel saving since 14/3/2021 – $42.00.

    28 March to 3 April – Ebike Commute 121km

This is a short week with a public holiday on Friday.
Started to consider the e-bike for other purposes aside commuting. We cycled to the local library instead of driving.
Tuesday to Thursday saw Brisbane in Covid 19 lockdown. The suburban roads are very quiet but the major arterials remain busy. More people are out casual riding and walking. I need to be extra mindful of pedestrians being unaware of how quickly and quietly cyclists can approach. The sounding of the Cube’s bell has proven to be very useful.
    Local ULP 91 price – $1.60/l. Fuel saving since 14/3/2021 – $63.70.
