The following morning no one appeared to be in much of a hurry. The anticipated tranquillity of The Narrows was churned by the passage of motor boats. We became the photo subjects for a great wad of people packed into a surprisingly large commercial boat plying its eco trade propelled by smelly and noisy diesels. The UHF reined us into Fig Tree Pocket for lunch. The local goanna wasn't going to move for anyone and looked more of a threat than the mossies. From here the group split with some heading north of
the island and onto Teewah Landing. The promised wind from the north petered out and it was a gentle paddle back.
Dinner at Boreen Point, either at the pub or down by the lake followed by a moonlight paddle is a highly recommended way to celebrate the beginning of some time exploring the Upper Noosa River and the surrounding walks.
